The Sound of New York City proudly presents ‘Oh My Lord’, the first original single by label
head and seasoned DJ/producer Danilo Braca, aka danyb. Marking the occasion TSoNYC
lock in a dream team of remix talent to each add their unique touch.
With the intention of stripping back to basics, Danilo nods to the minimalist Detroit & Chicago
sampling approach for this dusky dancefloor jam. Combining a rolling bass synth, panning
percussion and contorted vocal snippets, he lays down an undeniable groove, made all the
more alluring with the saxophone stylings of Troy Mobiuscollective. Six top-tier producers
then carve out an incredible collection of exclusive remixes.
Skyline in sight, DJ Spinna serves up a pensive, soulful house remix marrying bumping
rhythms, echoed out sax lines and a full frontal bass as he journeys through the shimmering
cityscapes.
Ashley Beedle takes to his cosmic Cadillac for The Africanz On Marz Trance Chant remix
and piano reprise closing soiree. A spiral of floating harps alongside swooning keys, chords,
bongos and riffs that open up into a fever pitch afro-infused groover - with the reprise honing
in on those glistening keys.
Stepping up next, DJ Rocca adds a buzzing, boogie-infused cut, full of punchy ‘80s bass
tones and whirling arps, whilst DJ Nature ventures into the underground, blending fizzing
rides with divine synthwork and sustained Rhodes.
Radius ETC’s dusty sampled style takes space echo sweetness and jazzy licks to form a
drowsy, hip hop inspired house joint, as The Revenge locks listeners into a mesmerising
groove supplemented by soulful stabs, nimble keys and hypnotic vocal cut-ups.
A standout first release from the TSoNYC head, danyb, with an array of remixes for every
imaginable occasion.
